About Boxcarr Handmade Cheeses
Boxcarr Handmade Cheeses is a creamery making award-winning artisan cheeses from pasteurized cow milk and farmstead goat milk. The lineup includes bloomy rinds (Cottonbell, Cottonseed, Cottonbloom, Doeling), ash-dusted robiolas (Rocket's, Rocketeer's), wrinkly-rind Rosie's Robiola, washed-rind and smoked styles (Nimble, Lissome, Campo, Redbud), Flint Ridge goat feta, and aged Zephyr. Honors include American Cheese Society and Good Food Awards, NC State Fair Best of Show, and a World Championship Cheese Contest bronze. Their "Supporting Our Farmers'" cheese continues a COVID-era program that donated nearly 1,000 pounds of cheese a week to local hunger-relief organizations. Goat-milk cheeses are seasonal, typically May–mid-January.
