About Global Garden Refugee Farm
In 2012, 42 refugee families turned a vacant lot into a productive garden growing fresh, organic vegetables. Today the one acre farm in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood has 58 plots for refugee families growing for home consumption, plus 6 larger plots managed by six farmers who sell to local restaurants and markets. Produce is pesticide-free and grown on healthy, living soil.
