Chef Gerard and his wife Cheryl began their business in 2011, naming it "Grampas" as an acronym for "The Great American Pasty and Pie Co". With their English and South African background, they began with the English pie but moved from Pie to Pasty. Their pastys use lots of local farm vegetables and flour sourced from a local mill in August that is unenriched and unbleached, with no preservatives added. Sold frozen and unbaked, with pickup, shipping, and farmers market sales.
