About Hoffman Grist Mill
The Hoffman Mill was re-established in 2016 near the site of the original 1800s Hoffman Mill, adjacent to the Abilene & Smoky Valley Railroad. Wheat products are ground from turkey red heritage grain brought to the US by Mennonite immigrants in 1870. Corn products are non GMO. Whole wheat flour is 100% of the berry; bolted flour has some bran removed like flour from the late 1800s. Uses 80-100 year old primary cleaners, an 1890 bolter, and wood spouting, elevator legs, and storage bins.
