About House of Bread
House of Bread is a program for under-resourced women looking to make a fresh start. Over a six-week session, women learn job and personal skills through hands-on training, emotional and spiritual support, while baking and selling bread alongside volunteers from the Roanoke community. Women receive ServSafe food handler and/or manager training, develop customer service experience, and partner one-on-one with mentors.
