Middlefield Original Cheese Co-Op is a family-owned coop located about 30 miles east of Cleveland, started in 1956, with 90 co-op members, 98% of whom are Amish. Cheese is made by the traditional method in vats from milk not treated with BST hormone, at a USDA approved plant. Visitors can view cheese-making through windows and ask for a tour, and sample free cheese at the retail store.
