New Family Farm is run by Tony, the 4th generation, located about halfway between Des Moines and Ames, two miles east of Elkhart, IA, overlooking the Skunk River valley. The farm has been in the family since around 1910 when John and Ella Sorenson bought the land. They sell the food they raise via Prudent Produce, a food hub co-located on their farm, and focus on caring for the soil to raise food that nourishes the soil's micro-organisms, their livestock, and the humans around them.
