Every batch begins with buckets of raw ocean water pulled straight from the Cape May coast, filtered gently in a sun-drenched greenhouse and evaporated over eight to twelve weeks. The harvest yields crisp sea salt flakes for the table and mineral-rich magnesium for soaking. The Salty Acres Cafe at County Commons, 3801 Rt 9, Rio Grande, NJ, serves organic coffee, salads, acai bowls and smoothies, and carries sea salt blends, soaps, salt bar, soaks and salted honey.
