About Smith Maple Farm
Smith Maple Farm is a family operation now in its seventh generation. Jim built the first sugarhouse in 1992; it burned down in 2013 and was rebuilt. They boil sap (heated to 219°F) into syrup using wood-fired boilers and plastic tubing, with a leased sugarbush system in Strafford, VT. They also raise a herd of Belted Galloways.
