About Vordonia Athenolia LLC
Vordonia Athenolia LLC makes extra virgin olive oil from olive trees at the foothills of Mt. Taygetos, 13 km from Sparta, planted by ancient Spartan warriors 1000 years ago. Owner Michael Theodore Sideris and his family hand-harvest each winter (Jan 15-Feb 10) and cold-press the oil the same evening, achieving a 2.60 kilos olives to 1 kilo oil ratio. Fewer than 1500 bottles are produced per harvest.
